This is another card that we'll be making at my "Card Buffet" this Friday night. I love the Retro feel of some of the current Stampin' Up! products, so that's the feel that I was trying to emulate with this card. The main stamp set used is "Forest Friends", which is a cute and funky little set from the Spring Mini.
The doll in the shot is Meggy, Felicity's favourite squishy buddy. For some reason it was imperative that she featured in my photos today!
At Stampin' Up! convention recently, one of the presenters Nicki Tidbold talked about some strategies to use for making cards for the boys & men in her life. Often it seems easy to make something pretty and girly, but harder to create something masculine. However, I was inspired to come home and try out a couple of cards, one for a grown-up boy's birthday, and one for a younger boy (hopefully you can work out which is which, otherwise I'm in serious trouble with my designing!)
The "Trendy Trees" stamp set is my new favourite, too. It was one of the sets we received at Convention, and I've been using it heaps!

Cardstock: Urban Oasis DSP, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey; Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Confetti White

I've had a bit of a light bulb moment recently. I've discovered how fantastic Kraft cardstock is! Now, I know there's a bunch of you thinking, "well, yeah... der, Beth, we've known that for ages..." but sometimes you just have to find these things out for yourself.
So, I'm loving Kraft. It seems to go with everything, and looks especially good with this year's In-Colours. I've used all the In-Colours on this card. It's a pretty simple design - stamp some random images, punch them out with the 1" circle punch, then add accessories, but I really like how it's turned out. I have to give it away as a birthday card tomorrow, so I think I'd better make another one now before it leaves the house!

This post is going to beat my previous record for the most number of pictures in one post! This is the post for all those people who'd like to see all the goodies that I received at Stampin' Up! convention last weekend. Firstly, our convention bag, which was this fantastic satchel, in Close to Cocoa with Kiwi Kiss and Taken with Teal lining and straps. As all the demonstrators were given the same bag, I made a tag to identify mine.
Inside our bag were a couple of stamp sets, which we were given so that we could use them during convention. "Trendy Trees" and "Circle Circus" were the sets we received - very fun! We got to do some Make 'n Takes during the convention, as well as watching lots of fantastic stamping presentations which have given me heaps of ideas.
One of the Make 'n Takes was an ingenious 12 x 12 page folded down to make a mini scrapbook. I've used it to put a few of my favourite photos from convention in.
I also received an extra stamp set as an award at the awards ceremony on Saturday night, complete, of course, with a gorgeous hand stamped tag! And lastly, I also got to bring home some yummy and beautifully presented gifts from my roomie, Jayne. You'll have to just imagine the delicious chocolates that were inside them!
Being able to attend events like Convention, or training days, where people who love stamping get together to learn, have fun and talk about stamping is my favourite part of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.
