Card sketch

I made both these cards based on a sketch that was posted by Kylie on the Inklings forum a couple of weeks ago. She found the sketch here. I thought it was a great sketch that worked really well for these stamp sets! For the second card, I was keen to use the Celebrate Everyday set in a way that showed that you don't always need to colour in line art stamps for them to still be used effectively. The second card is another one of the projects we made recently at my Spring Mini Catalogue launch.

The background for both cards is Whisper White stamped with the spotty image from Big Bold Birthday in Real Red. I loved the way this turned out, so I think I'll be having more spotty backgrounds on my projects.

Materials used (both cards)

Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Celebrate Everyday, Big Bold Birthday, Be Happy, Lovely Labels.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Old Olive

Inks: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive

Accessories: 1 3/8 circle and square punches, Dimensionals, Earth Elements markers, Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon, blue gingham ribbon

Tart and Tangy

Tart and Tangy is one of the sets in the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue. It's a sweet set with images of four different kinds of fruits. At first it didn't really appeal to me, but now I find myself borrowing it a lot from friends!

To create the strawberry image from this card, I've inked the stamp using Stampin' Write markers, which was surprisingly quick and easy to do. The images fit perfectly into the 1 1/4" circle punch, then are layered using the 1 3/8" circle punch.

I've also used the Short and Sweet for the greeting, and a small flower from Always on the background. The colours are Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Black and Whisper White. Why not use this layout to make a card yourself today?
