Whoo! Hoo!

This owl image is definitely my favourite stamp from the "Celebrate Everyday" set. For this card I coloured him in 'Autumnal" colours, to match some of the Fall Flowers designer series paper, which uses the colour Really Rust. He told me that he wanted something to stand on, so I gave him a branch from the "Spring Solitude" hostess bundle. And I have to say, I love the new Satin ribbon from the Spring Mini - it's very smooth and shiny!

Inks: Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Really Rust and Close to Cocoa.

eScape

For the month of June, Stampin' Up! is encouraging people to eScape. That is, to eScape from the "e" - all the electronic forms of communication that are so constant in modern life, and to communicate by sending a handwritten note or card to someone, instead of an email or text message!

So while it's kind of ironic that you're reading about this via the Internet, you can still participate in eScaping if you like! You can do that in a few different ways:

1. Come along to my eScape event next Friday, 27th June at 7:30pm. At this class we'll be making some "Love Note" sized gift cards, with matching handmade envelopes, and a box to store them in. All the cards will involve watercolouring, so the class will also include tips and techniques to help improve your watercolouring skills. Cost: $20.

This post is about a couple of different types of tags. Firstly, the tag on the left which I made for my daughter’s pre-school bag, so that hopefully it will come back to us if it ever gets lost!

I find that I reach for the All in the Family set over and over again. This time I used it with the Family Favourites, which is like an accessory set for All in the Family. I stamped the little girl using the tutu, because Felicity would like to think that she’s a ballerina. I also used stamps from the Spring Solitude Hostess bundle for the background and the tree.

The colours, not surprisingly, are mostly In Colours; Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and some Pretty in Pink. I especially love the In Colour double stitched ribbons.

The second kind of tag is a blogging tag. I’ve been tagged by Sam  and Kate   (thanks!). So here are the rules of blog tag:

1. I’m actually a High School teacher by profession, and believe it or not I miss teaching! At the moment I’m at home being a Mum and doing Stampin’ Up! stuff.
2. We’re expecting our 3rd child in 13 weeks!
3. Our house is called “The Duckpond”.
4. My favourite author is Jane Austen – it’s such a shame that she was only able to complete 6 novels in her lifetime.
5. Italy is my favourite place in the world – I’d love to be able to spend some more time there.
6. Our family is sport mad – we’re keen Waratahs fans so are pretty excited about the Super 14 final this weekend.
7. Our computer keeps crashing – it’s taken me 6 attempts (over 3 different days) to complete this post and upload it – that’s my excuse for the delay!

Note Box

I can't believe how long it is since I've posted here... Sorry! I have been creating lots of different things, but just not having time to upload them, so I promise to show lots of projects over the next couple of weeks to make up for my recent silence. Apologies over, now on to today's project!

At the Stampin' Up! convention in April (which was fantastic!) one of the presenters talked about making this little box for "Love Notes", which are a 3" x 3" size little card. We made a couple of notes at Convention using the Fun and Fast Notes set, and I thought that making up a set of them would be a nice Hostess gift for some of my hostesses this month.

I made up the box in Groovy Guava, and stamped it with a stamp and wheel from the Spring Solitude Set. All the cards and the box are made with a combination of Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip, so it was easy to choose the colours to use for the box. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain, and the butterfly is from the Garden Whimsy set. It was embossed to give it a bit of shine, then it was punched out with the scallop circle punch - too easy.
