Recently I've been suffering from major creativity block! I think maybe it's the January effect - I feel like it should be holidays and that I shouldn't be doing anything that would involve exercising my brain at all. So, I needed a challenge to try to snap me out of my slump!
My Stampin' Up! upline, Jayne, organised a swap which I decided to take part in. This swap involved making Artist Trading Cards, which I've never done before. I'm not sure my cards are "arty" enough, but the idea was to demonstrate embossing, and I've done that. I've used one of my favourite embossing techniques - embossing with White craft ink on vellum, and colouring the vellum in from the back with my Stampin' Write markers. It gives a subtle, stained glass window type effect. I've used the Petal Prints stamp set and coloured the flowers with my Soft Subtles markers. The base card is Mellow Moss, and I stamped the Leaf Prints wheel in Mellow Moss as a background. The word "wonderful" from Warm Words was added, along with some faux stitching down the side. I've sent these cards off in the post today, and I'm looking forward to receiving 8 different cards back from other demonstrators. Swapping is pretty fun!
