Stamp Club

This is one of the cards that we made at Stamp Club last Tuesday. It was based on a card that I saw in Paper Crafts magazine and uses the Kimono Kids stamp set, which is retiring this month!

Stamp Club is one of my favourite things to do as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Each month the lovely stamp club ladies turn up and we make either some cards or a 3D project. Often we'll cover new or more advanced techniques in the club. The club has 6 members, and each member agrees to spend $50 a month for 6 months. They take turns sharing the hostess benefits in this time, so that everyone earns some free stuff!

I'll have a new Stamp Club starting in October, so please let me know if you'd like more information about it. It really is lovely to get together with the same group of people each month to spend some time doing craft.

A few of my favourite things...

This card definitely uses a few of my favourite things! Firstly, I started with a sketch Taylored Expressions sketch #128 . I love working from a card or page sketch, as it's a fabulous way to give my creativity a jump start.

Secondly, the stamp set, Kimono Kids, is definitely a favourite of mine. Colouring in - also a favourite things to do, especially with new colours! This card uses Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride, Concorde Crush and Pear Pizzazz - all 5 of the new In Colours.

And next, my new favourite product that I can't make a card without... Shimmer Paint! I've just sponged a little onto the greeting panel to give it some shine. I'm loving it, especially because it's so easy to use!

 

Kimono Kids

My daughter Felicity chose the Kimono Kids stamp set from the catalogue as her favourite, I was pretty pleased with her choice, as I was planning to get it anyway!

For this card I decided to try out some of the new "In Colours"; Blushing Bride, Concord Crush and Poppy Parade. I'm not sure if you can see it, but the card is slightly sparkly, because I also used some of the new Champagne Mist "Shimmer Paint". It's a pigment ink that you can apply to your card with a sponge or sponge dauber, and I was really pleased that it was so easy to use, not at all messy, and that it gave the card a lovely shimmer to it. I'll definitely be trying it out in other ways, soon!

My favourite part of this card is the lanterns that are hanging from the ribbon. I also coloured those with the In Colour markers - this is the first time that we've had markers available in the In Colours, so it was very satisfying to use those as well.
