All About Yellow

 Colour for Emily is all about Yellow. Whenever she has a choice, she goes for the yellow option. So, here's a page celebrating her love of yellow.

The main shades that I've used on this page are Barely Banana and Summer Sun - both of which won't be available for much longer, due to Stampin' Up!'s Colour Renovation! If you're a big fan of yellow like Emily, then please make sure you stock up on your inkpads and especially ink refills!

 One of my favourite parts of this layout is the flower accent - it's made using a flower from the Sweet Sticky Cuts which I've sprinkled some beads onto. The Sticky Cuts are really strong, like Sticky Strip, so they hold glitter or beads really well.  I've also used some chipboard letters for the title, which I've coloured with various scraps of yellow paper.

Supplies Used

Stamps: Good Friend, Short Order Alphabet

Cardstock: Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Whisper White, So Saffron, Kaliedoscope DSP.

Accessories: Sweet Sticky Cuts, Button Latte, 3/4 circle punch, On Board Lots of Letters, Ribbon originals, sponge daubers. 

Discovering Kraft

I've had a bit of a light bulb moment recently. I've discovered how fantastic Kraft cardstock is! Now, I know there's a bunch of you thinking, "well, yeah... der, Beth, we've known that for ages..." but sometimes you just have to find these things out for yourself.

So, I'm loving Kraft. It seems to go with everything, and looks especially good with this year's In-Colours. I've used all the In-Colours on this card. It's a pretty simple design - stamp some random images, punch them out with the 1" circle punch, then add accessories, but I really like how it's turned out. I have to give it away as a birthday card tomorrow, so I think I'd better make another one now before it leaves the house!

Today my two oldest girls will be enjoying treats from these little Milk Cartons I made them. I followed instructions from Amy Celona to make the rabbit, and the Chick is done using the Good Friend stamp set. I added some cotton wool for his wing so that it's nice and tactile for my 2 year old.

Free as a Bird

Sometimes I'd love to be a child again. As an adult, if you go down to the beach, pick up some seaweed and start twirling, people tend to give you strange looks. But when you're almost-3, people think it's perfectly natural!

I had fun scrapping these photos of my daughter. I used the "Good Friend" stamp set, from the upcoming 2009/10 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. I love the images of the bird, so I've included a couple of close up pictures. And I also really love Baja Breeze, one of the new In-Colours. You're going to be seeing a lot of it around here!

Something New...

It's just a couple of weeks now until Stampin' Up!'s 2009-10 Idea Book and Catlogue is released. I'm pretty excited! We got to have a "sneak peek" at a couple of the new stamp sets, and the delicious new In Colours recently. Here's my first creation with the "Good Friend" stamp set.

The blues that I've used are Baja Breeze and Pacific Point - I love the new blues! It's a bit tricky to see in the photo but I've used Versamark and Dazzling Diamonds on the dandelion image so that it's all sparkly. The birds (so cute!) are punched from some of our new Designer Series Paper.
