Cards for Everyone

The next class that I'm running is called "Cards for Everyone". It's basically a Stamp-A-Stacks, where you spend a couple of hours stamping a "stack" of cards. In this class, you'll get to make 12 cards. Because it's cards for everyone, you'll be making 4 male, 4 female and 4 children's cards. Can you guess to which category the pictured card belongs?

Thanks to Teneale for showing me how to do reverse masking and inspiring this card. It uses the stamp sets "Both Way Blossoms", "French Flair" and "Warm Words". This is a lovely set to watercolour with.

A Year of Cards

 

This is the book that you will get to make if you come to my next class. It's a cross between a Birthday Book and a card storage book; each month there is space to write in people's birthdays and a pocket in which to keep the cards you've made. It would also make a lovely gift, especially if you fill it with hand made cards!

The book is made using Sahara Sand 12 x 12 card, which is folded, stamped and then bound together. The class is on Friday, 15th February at 7:30 pm at my place in Turramurra, and costs $20. All materials are included in the price. Please RSVP by 11th Feb as I need to make sure I've got enough materials for everyone to make the book!

Watercolouring

One of the aspects of Stamping that I like best is watercolouring. I especially like the effect that you can get with Stampin' Up!'s watercolour paper. For this card, I've stamped the City of David image on watercolour paper with StazOn, then coloured it with an Aqua Painter and my Stampin' Write markers in the Earth Elements colours. The colours blend so nicely on the watercolour paper!

The card stock colours I've used here are Pumpkin Pie, with Really Rust and Not Quite Navy for the matting. I used the French Flair background stamp on the background card (That stamp is from the Summer Mini catalogue - ask me if you'd like to see a catalogue!) and inked the "Peaceful" part of the Peaceful Wishes stamp with my Not Quite Navy marker. The markers are great if you just want to stamp part of an image - you can just colour in the part of the stamp that you want! A little bit of cream organdy ribbon finished it off. Hope you like it. Obviously I love Stampin' Up! products, so I'm pretty excited about the fact that the new Summer Mini Catalogue is coming out. As demonstrators we've been able to take a look at the products early, so I've made up a couple of samples to give you your own personal Preview of the Catalogue. These cards use the French Flair background stamp and the Carte Postale stamp set, as well as the matching "Enchante" designer series paper. (Are you picking up the "French" theme yet?)

The colours I've used are Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery and Sage Shadow, with Very Vanilla cardstock as well and a bit of Chocolate Chip thrown in for good measure.
