Little Peter Rabbit...

Okay, okay - I know that this is meant to be an Easter stamp set, and we're nowhere near Easter. The rabbit in this set always makes me think of Peter Rabbit, though, so I thought I'd try him out on a baby card. What do you think? Does it work?

We just had a fantastic team weekend away where lots of creating was done, so there'll be a few new things to show you over the next few days!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Okay, so I know that's really cheesy, and I don't know if that's the official world card making day greeting anyway, but I still hope that you have a happy day! And, if you can grab the chance, sit down and make a card, and even write in it and send it to someone special, so that they know you think they're special.

Felicity is off to a "sports" 4th birthday today, so I thought that was a great chance to use some of the sporty accessories from the Family Favourites set. I made a spinner card, which hopefully looks like the boy is kind of kicking the soccer ball, or at least standing next to the moving soccer ball.

So, Happy Birthday to Hugo, and Happy World Card Making Day to everybody else!

Materials Used

Stamps: All in the Family, Family Favourites, Family Phrases, Classic Alphabet (retired)

Cardstock: Watercolour paper, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White.

Ink: StazOn, plus various colours for watercolouring.

Accessories: Aqua painter, Earth Elements Brads, Circle punches, Word Window punch, Daisy field wheel.

 

 

Fathers' Day

I know it's been a couple of days since Fathers' Day, but I wanted to share somethings that I made for my husband to celebrate his first Fathers' Day as a father of three girls! I had to make him a card, of course, so I used the All in the Family stamp set and Accessories to represent our family. I love how this can be customised so that it looks (mostly!) like us.

His favourite colour's purple, so I used Lovely Lilac as the card base, but I teemed it with Sage Shadow and Ballet Blue so that hopefully it wouldn't be too girly, despite all the pink colouring in the image.

I also made him a Mini Album with photos of the girls, which I'll share some pictures of tomorrow!

Tags!

 

This post is about a couple of different types of tags. Firstly, the tag on the left which I made for my daughter’s pre-school bag, so that hopefully it will come back to us if it ever gets lost!

I find that I reach for the All in the Family set over and over again. This time I used it with the Family Favourites, which is like an accessory set for All in the Family. I stamped the little girl using the tutu, because Felicity would like to think that she’s a ballerina. I also used stamps from the Spring Solitude Hostess bundle for the background and the tree.

The colours, not surprisingly, are mostly In Colours; Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and some Pretty in Pink. I especially love the In Colour double stitched ribbons.

The second kind of tag is a blogging tag. I’ve been tagged by Sam  and Kate   (thanks!). So here are the rules of blog tag:

1. I’m actually a High School teacher by profession, and believe it or not I miss teaching! At the moment I’m at home being a Mum and doing Stampin’ Up! stuff.
2. We’re expecting our 3rd child in 13 weeks!
3. Our house is called “The Duckpond”.
4. My favourite author is Jane Austen – it’s such a shame that she was only able to complete 6 novels in her lifetime.
5. Italy is my favourite place in the world – I’d love to be able to spend some more time there.
6. Our family is sport mad – we’re keen Waratahs fans so are pretty excited about the Super 14 final this weekend.
7. Our computer keeps crashing – it’s taken me 6 attempts (over 3 different days) to complete this post and upload it – that’s my excuse for the delay!

Family Favourites

I'm sure lots of you will remember the All in the Family special promotion that we had last November. Just released in the 2008/9 Idea Book and Catalogue is a new stamp set that coordinates with All in the Family, called Family Favourites. This card was made for Jaron, who was turning 1. He was having a Teddy Bear's Picnic birthday party, so it was great that the family favourites set included a teddy bear, a picnic basket, a balloon and a party hat. Perfect!

The image was stamped with StazOn on watercolour paper, then coloured with ink. The card colours are Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Sky. My next project with this set is to make something for my 3 year old using the ballet tutu - so sweet!
