I've just returned back from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Convention, which was so fantastic! If you'd like to come along next year for an awesome time of stamping, making and catching up with friends, giveaways, presentations and loads of ideas, then put these dates in your diary: May 23rd to 25th 2013. I'm starting to make my plans already!
One of the exciting things about this year's Convention for me was that I was asked to do a short presentation on the main stage. Fairly scary to think about, but so much fun to actually do!
I planned my presentation around the Elegant Bird die that's in the Autumn/ Winter mini catalogue. I wanted to show how versatile the die can be, and I thought that it might be fun for all the people here from the US to see a typically Australian bird on a card, so I came up with this cockatoo idea. To get the cockatoo's crest, I simply cut out the bird's body in Daffodil Delight, then cut off the tail feathers. The body of the cocky was embossed with the houndsttoth embossing folder, and the wing was sponged in the middle with some Daffodil Delight ink. The background papers are from the Domestic Goddess range, which has a lovely and fresh colour combination.
I also made a few other projects with the die, so I'll show you those soon!
