Watercolouring

One of the aspects of Stamping that I like best is watercolouring. I especially like the effect that you can get with Stampin' Up!'s watercolour paper. For this card, I've stamped the City of David image on watercolour paper with StazOn, then coloured it with an Aqua Painter and my Stampin' Write markers in the Earth Elements colours. The colours blend so nicely on the watercolour paper!

The card stock colours I've used here are Pumpkin Pie, with Really Rust and Not Quite Navy for the matting. I used the French Flair background stamp on the background card (That stamp is from the Summer Mini catalogue - ask me if you'd like to see a catalogue!) and inked the "Peaceful" part of the Peaceful Wishes stamp with my Not Quite Navy marker. The markers are great if you just want to stamp part of an image - you can just colour in the part of the stamp that you want! A little bit of cream organdy ribbon finished it off. Hope you like it. City of David

Blue and brown is one of my favourite colour combinations. This is one of the cards that we'll be making at my next Christmas Card class, on Thursday 15th November. This card uses the Snow Flurries and City of David stamp sets, with the "Noel" from Many Merry Messages. I like the way the colours work - they're Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa. I've watercoloured the Mary & Joseph image using the Stampin' Write markers, and used some brads, ivory ribbon and Stampin' Dimensionals to make the Noel greeting stand out.

The class on November 15th is at my place in Turramurra, at 7:30pm. We'll make 10 cards altogether. If you'd like to book in, please send me an email at mail@elisabethstewart.com. My First Post!

So I'm still not sure how the whole Blog thing works yet, but it seems like fun so I'm trying it! This Blog is mainly about Papercrafts, particularly Stampin' Up! as I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. So, for my first post I thought I'd share the cards that we'll be making at my upcoming October Christmas card class. The first class uses the sets "Hung up on the Holidays" and "Peaceful Wishes", and the second uses a variety of different SU! sets, punched out with the 1 1/4" square punch to give a mosaic effect.

The class is on Friday, 19th October, 7:30pm at my place in Turramurra, Sydney. It costs $15 to make 10 cards, 5 of each. Please email me if you're interested in more information!
