It's Challenge Time

It's been hard to find the time to be creative this last couple of weeks, so I loved that last night the Inklings team held a "Cyberstamp" where we attempted to complete challenges set by Lin Mei. I'm so slow at creating and procrastinate so much that I normally don't get much finished anyway, but last night was made worse by the fact that I fell asleep really early! So today I managed to get the first challenge done, which was a colour challenge. We had to use Basic Black, Almost Amethyst, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. Almost Amethyst is normally more purple than this, but my ink pad had an accident with some Old Olive and Not Quite Navy ink, so is currently looking a little grey. I just need to re-ink it and that will fix it up.

 To make the card I used the Carte Postale stamp set and the matching Leaves a la Carte wheel. Don't forget that if you order Carte Postale this month, then you get the wheel stamp, worth $15.95, for free!

A Year of Cards

 

This is the book that you will get to make if you come to my next class. It's a cross between a Birthday Book and a card storage book; each month there is space to write in people's birthdays and a pocket in which to keep the cards you've made. It would also make a lovely gift, especially if you fill it with hand made cards!

The book is made using Sahara Sand 12 x 12 card, which is folded, stamped and then bound together. The class is on Friday, 15th February at 7:30 pm at my place in Turramurra, and costs $20. All materials are included in the price. Please RSVP by 11th Feb as I need to make sure I've got enough materials for everyone to make the book!

I really had a great time last night at my Summer Mini Catalogue launch. Thanks to everyone who came along! I wanted to give everyone who was here a treat to say thanks for coming, so instead of giving chocolates or lollies I decided to give "Card Candy". Instead of a lolly bag it's a bag of pre-stamped images that you can use straight on your cards. All the images use new sets from the Summer Mini catalogue. I hope everyone has fun using their "Card Candy"!

Obviously I love Stampin' Up! products, so I'm pretty excited about the fact that the new Summer Mini Catalogue is coming out. As demonstrators we've been able to take a look at the products early, so I've made up a couple of samples to give you your own personal Preview of the Catalogue. These cards use the French Flair background stamp and the Carte Postale stamp set, as well as the matching "Enchante" designer series paper. (Are you picking up the "French" theme yet?)

The colours I've used are Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Certainly Celery and Sage Shadow, with Very Vanilla cardstock as well and a bit of Chocolate Chip thrown in for good measure.
