The stamp set "Nature's Nest" is one that I find to be often overlooked in the Stampin' Up! catalogue. It's a set that cries out to be watercoloured, so the black and white picture in the catalogue just doesn't do it justice.
For this card I've just used the peacock feather image, and stamped it three times. To try to imitate the amazing real life colours of a peacock I used Soft Suede, Pacific Point and Island Indigo.
I also used an idea that I picked up at Convention from the lovely Vanessa Webb. {I love how I come back from Stampin' Up! events chock full of ideas and techniques to try out!} I've cut the top and bottom from the stripey ribbon, frayed it slightly then used the frayed pieces to tie around the ribbon again for a "feathery" look.
Next time I'll show you a card, also inspired by convention, that uses the nest stamp from this set. If you'd like to check out the set for yourself, you can find it on p. 78 of the Stampin' Up! Catalogue.
