Birthday cards

These are the three birthday cards we'll be making at my class next week on 6th March at 7:30 pm. For $20 you'll get to make 4 of each of these cards, and stamp some envelopes to match! Please let me know ASAP if you'd like to come along!

Retiring Stamps

Stampin' Up! have released the list of Stamp sets and Accessories that will be retiring at the end of March. Some of these sets are already selling out, so if any are on your wish list, I suggest you order them sooner rather than later!

More Birthday cards!

It's been a while since I specifically designed a male birthday card. This is the second card for an upcoming class (see previous post!) and it took me a while for the ideas to come together. In the end I decided to use the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue for inspiration, and found a layout that I liked, so I adapted that for my purposes.

The colours are Sahara Sand, Vintage Violet, Mellow Moss and Cranberry Crisp. Vintage Violet and Cranberry Crisp will both be retiring at the end of March, so if you need to stock up on supplies of these or the other In Colours, make sure you do that soon! It's a good idea to make sure you have an ink refill for any of your In Colour inkpads, too.

I used some Hodgpodge Hardware and brads on the card, too, which gave it accents without feeling like I was using girly embellishments. I hope you like it!

Cards for Everyone

The next class that I'm running is called "Cards for Everyone". It's basically a Stamp-A-Stacks, where you spend a couple of hours stamping a "stack" of cards. In this class, you'll get to make 12 cards. Because it's cards for everyone, you'll be making 4 male, 4 female and 4 children's cards. Can you guess to which category the pictured card belongs?

Thanks to Teneale for showing me how to do reverse masking and inspiring this card. It uses the stamp sets "Both Way Blossoms", "French Flair" and "Warm Words". This is a lovely set to watercolour with.

Shades of Blue

I've recently discovered how much fun the Stampin' Up! Spectrum ink pads can be. This 2, 4, 6,8 box was so quick to make. I stamped the images from "Merci", a Sale-A-Bration set, onto glossy card, added some white crayon, then rolled the ink onto the cardstock with my brayer. The spectrum pad, Blue Frost, has 3 different blues - Brilliant Blue, Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue, which gave the stripey/ toned effect on my box. So easy!

A Year of Cards

 

This is the book that you will get to make if you come to my next class. It's a cross between a Birthday Book and a card storage book; each month there is space to write in people's birthdays and a pocket in which to keep the cards you've made. It would also make a lovely gift, especially if you fill it with hand made cards!

The book is made using Sahara Sand 12 x 12 card, which is folded, stamped and then bound together. The class is on Friday, 15th February at 7:30 pm at my place in Turramurra, and costs $20. All materials are included in the price. Please RSVP by 11th Feb as I need to make sure I've got enough materials for everyone to make the book!
